Arthur "Butch" Anderson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on August 22, 2024, in Olympia, Washington. Born on October 15, 1948, in Centralia, Washington, Butch lived a life marked by courageous service, hard work, and genuine love for his family and friends.

Butch began his journey at Rochester High School, but his path took a significant turn when he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Serving bravely in Vietnam from April 16, 1968, to March 11, 1972, Butch's valor and dedication to his country were evident. After his military service, he completed his G.E.D. and embarked on a successful career in truck driving, a field that suited his spirited and ambitious nature.

Known as Andy or Butch to those who knew him well, Arthur built a respectable career within the fiber optics industry, where his energy and loyalty shone brightly. His colleagues and friends remember him not just for his professional contribution but for his distinct personality. Butch had a signature style, characterized by cowboy boots and a cowboy hat, and was rarely seen without his beverage of choice, whether it was Pepsi, Squirt, or coffee.

Butch's passions extended beyond his career. He was an avid fisherman who cherished the serenity of being on the water. Board games, science fiction, and western books and movies were among his favorite pastimes. Additionally, he had a deep love for dogs, two of whom stood out as extraordinary companions. Nick, a gentle giant who followed Butch despite his initial resistance, and Amor, a larger-than-life beagle who brought immense joy and countless stories to share with his grandchildren.

Above all, Butch was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Emma Anderson; sons John Anderson, Jesse Anderson, Arthur Anderson Jr., and Rusty Anderson. He is also remembered fondly by his brother Wesley Anderson, sister Elizabeth Anderson, and his extended family, including 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. His legacy of generosity, ambition, and unwavering loyalty will live on in their hearts.

A graveside burial service celebrating Arthur "Butch" Anderson's life will be held on [Date of Service], starting at 1:00 P.M, at Grand Mound Cemetery, 6300 183rd Ave SW, Rochester, Washington, 98579. Family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by Butch are invited to join in honoring his memory and offering condolences.

Arthur "Butch" Anderson's vibrant spirit, enduring love for his family, and his life lived with passion and dedication will forever be remembered. May he rest in eternal peace.
