Jan Marie Weller

Jan Marie Weller, 85, of Greeley, passed away September 8, 2024 at her home. She was born on June 26, 1939 in Decatur, Illinois. 

The family moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma in 1944, and again in 1954 to Denver, Colorado. Jan graduated from South High School and Denver University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Music in 1961. She then earned her Master’s Degree in Library Science in 1966. She met her husband Sam at a pot-luck social at Calvary Baptist Church in Denver in 1965, and later married at the same church in 1966. They lived in Aurora, Colorado for 34 years before building their home in Greeley.

Jan enjoyed books, reading them, as well as working as a librarian, but her true passion was teaching private piano lessons for 50 years. She was an accomplished pianist. During her lifetime, she accompanied a variety of types of musical events, as well as solo performances. While active at Calvary Baptist Church, she sang in the choir and was a member of the hand bell choir. She thoroughly enjoyed her garden and loved flowers.

Jan is survived by her daughter Kay (Scott) Dill, son John (Natalie) Weller, and four grandchildren: Haley (Bryce) Moler, Bethany Weller, and Lauren Weller, and Tanner Dill.

Jan was proceeded in death by her husband and her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held for both Jan and Sam, due to not being able to hold memorial services for Sam at the time of his death in October 2020 due to COVID-19. Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2024 at Adamson Life Celebration Home located at 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634, with lunch to follow.
