Mark Alfred Davidson

Mark Alfred Davidson was born on January 2, 1953, to Lloyd Alfred Davidson and Margaret Jerrick Davidson, Mark was their first child and a source of pride from the very beginning. Mark, as the eldest of seven siblings embraced his role as big brother with love, care, and a sense of responsibility that guided him throughout his life. Growing up in Guyana, Mark attended Tutorial High School, where he began shaping the hardworking and dedicated man he would become. After graduating, he worked as an aviation mechanic for Guyana Airways before serving his country in the Guyanese Defense Force. His life took a new direction when he migrated to the United States, where he worked with the New York Metropolitan Transit Authority. Mark found his calling as an locomotive engineer with Metro North, a position in which he continuously excelled, dedicating many years of service before retiring in 2015. Though he spent much of his life as a proud New Yorker, Mark sought peace and serenity in his later years, choosing to retire in Charleston, South Carolina. He cherished the tranquility of his new home, especially enjoying time spent on his beloved boat. Mark was surrounded by his family when he took the Lord’s hand for his journey to heaven on September 3, 2024. Mark is survived by his children: Suzanne, Mark, Quincy, and Nigel; his grandchildren: Tyrique, Mark, Mya, Yasmine, Emma, and Noah; his brothers, Ornan (Karen) and Bernard (Karan); and his sisters, Carol, Hodiah, and Allena. He his sister Elise preceded him in death. Mark's legacy also lives on through his nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends who will miss him greatly
