William (Bill) Carroll West, 88, passed away on July 28, 2024.

Bill was born in Clarksville, TN on May 24, 1936 to Carroll and Elois West. Bill was one of four children, having two brothers, Bobby and Jerry and one sister, Vicki.

In 1955 Bill joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. He returned to Clarksville and in 1958 moved to St Petersburg, FL. Bill worked for Florida Power for many years. His love of cars and motorcycles led to him open Cycle Village, a small motorcycle shop in St. Petersburg, which began his journey into motorsports promotions. Bill had a highly successful career producing motocross, supercross, and monster truck events. Bill was a pioneer and a legend in the motorsports world. He was a mentor to many people and inspired those who worked for him to become successful in their careers.

Bill had a full life and loved to spend time with family, friends, travel, ride motorcycles in the mountains of North Carolina, and collect cars. No one enjoyed lounging by the pool and soaking up the sun more than Bill. He had a quick wit and was an incredible storyteller and always had a story to share. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and loved him.

Bill is survived by his partner of 44 years, Sherry Dye, and daughters Holly Foerch, Rebecca West, and Amy West, all from St. Petersburg. Brothers Bobby West, St. Petersburg, Jerry West, Lake City, sister Vicki West, Clarksville TN, Sherry's son, David Dye, and grandson Lawson, as well as many nieces and nephews, friends, and his cat Tazzy.
