Russell Mack Martin, a devoted husband, father, and servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, in Warner Robins, Georgia. A private graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia.
Born on May 1, 1949, in Dalton, Georgia, Russell's life was marked by his unwavering loyalty and dedication to his country, faith, and family. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Cecil G. Martin and Martha L. Heggie Martin, as well as his brother, Warren G. Martin.
Russell proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he found his true calling in ministry. For 17 years, he served as a minister, guiding and uplifting many through his profound faith and compassionate heart. His mission work extended beyond the borders of his local community, touching lives globally as a dedicated missionary.
A longstanding member of several Baptist churches in Middle Georgia, Russell was known for his steadfast loyalty and deep commitment to his faith. His contributions to the church and his missionary work left a lasting impact on many, reflecting his devotion to spreading love, hope, and faith. Russell Mack Martin's legacy is one of unwavering faith, dedication, and loyalty. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and love him.
Russell is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Kitty Shelpman Martin, and his cherished son Timothy J. Martin and a host of extended family.
To honor Russell's memory, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Baptist World Mission, furthering the cause to which he dedicated much of his life.
All those who wish to express their condolences are encouraged to do so, as we remember and celebrate the life of a man who served his country, his faith, and his family with unparalleled dedication.
