Geraldine Lillian (Campbell) Shull, “Jerry”, formerly of Greeley, CO passed away on September 16, 2024 at the Beehive Memory Care Home in Vernal, UT where she had been living since January 2020.

Jerry was born on November 27, 1933 in Greeley, CO to Andrew and Lillian Campbell.  Jerry’s early years were in Evans, CO at the family’s sale barn property.  Later, they moved to a ranch east of Cornish, CO where she lived with her parents and two older brothers.  She graduated from Galeton High School in 1951.  She attended Cosmetology school and took a job doing hair at Jack’s Salon in Greeley.

In 1956, Jerry was at a horse sale when she saw what she described as a “good-looking hunk of man” walking toward her.  He struck up a conversation with “they’re selling pretty slow tonight, aren’t they Jerry.” Enter Larry Tyner Shull of Keota, CO, who had obviously done his homework. There was a cup of coffee at the café across the street, which turned into a yearlong courtship. They married in November 1957. Their son Andy was born in 1958 and daughter Sandy joined the family in 1961.   In 1962 they moved to a home in north Greeley where they lived for 55 years.

During their marriage, Larry developed alcoholism, which in Jerry’s words, “brought them both to their knees, and turned them to Jesus.”.  Jerry began attending Al-Anon, and Larry found sobriety through “AA and the grace of God”.   They invested the next 39 years sponsoring many recovering alcoholics and Al-Anons, as well as leading bible studies in their home.   Jerry and Larry worshiped and served God at Hillside Baptist Church in Greeley.  In 2014 Larry developed Leukemia, and in 2016 they moved to Irving, TX to seek further medical treatment for him and to be near Sandy and her family.  Larry passed away in 2017, and Jerry stayed in Texas for two more years, before moving to Beehive Memory Care Home in Vernal, UT, near Andy and his family.

Jerry is survived by her son Andy Shull and wife Bonita of Vernal, UT and her daughter Sandy Lowry and husband Bill of Irving, TX. Grandsons Tyner (wife Candice), Drew, Nathan (wife Jordyn), Jacob, Michael (wife Alyssa) and Granddaughter Megan. Eighteen great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Larry; parents Andrew and Lillian Campbell; brothers AJ (Jack) and John Campbell; half-sisters Faye Guthrie, Fern McFadden, Farrie Giffen.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at Adamson Life Celebration Home 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634, September 25, 2024 at 9:00AM, Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations made payable to Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services will be given to a local organization in Greeley that was dear to Jerry’s heart.
