William David Alford, 71, of Eugene, OR, passed away on September 15, 2024. He was born December 16, 1952, in Springfield, MO.  

Mr. Alford graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1971, and married Debra Lee Hilgers in Klamath Falls, OR, in 1972. He worked at Seneca Sawmill in Eugene, OR, from 1978 until his retirement in 2019.  

He enjoyed fishing, gardening and trips to the beach. He collected rocks, coins and stamps. He also loved sports, especially St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Raiders football, Trailblazers basketball and the Oregon Ducks.  

He is survived by his: 

  • Wife, Debbie 
  • Son, Dylan, and daughter-in-law, Young-Joo, and their children, Caitlin and Patrick
  • Daughter, Nicole Harwood, and son-in-law, Michael Harwood
  • Father, William Haston
  • Brother, Gary, and sisters, Barbara Clark and Edith Spencer
  •  

He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda. 

The family has not yet made plans for a memorial service, but will notify family and friends once arrangements are made.
