Bernhart “Bernie” Henry Hanenberger, born on October 22, 1945, passed away on September 8, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of service, adventure, and laughter.
A proud Vietnam veteran and decorated soldier, Bernie dedicated thirty years to the military, embodying the values of courage and commitment.
Throughout his life, Bernie traveled extensively across the United States, embracing every opportunity to experience the richness of life. He was known for his remarkable storytelling, often regaling friends and family with tales from his past. His gentle giant demeanor and infectious humor made him a beloved figure to all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have shared in his journey.
A celebration of Bernie’s life will be held in Arlington followed by the interment at Arlington Cemetery. All family/friends interested in attending, please contact: [email protected].
