Roma Ann McGehee

Roma "Ann" Pachta McGehee, a beloved wife, mother, and cherished member of the Albuquerque community, passed away on September 8th, 2024. She was born in Raton, New Mexico on June 29th, 1943, to Roman H. Pachta and Elizabeth Marie Pachta, who instilled a strong work ethic and unwavering compassion for others. Ann was a devoted wife to James W. McGehee and a dedicated mother to her children and grandmother to her grandchildren: daughter Eleanor Robin McGehee Hall husband Andy Hall and children Servando Hall and Mercedes Hall, daughter Jami Sue McGehee Schwalm and husband Kurt Schwalm and children Arthur Schwalm and Tessa Schwalm, and son Mark T. McGehee.  Ann shared her childhood with seven siblings: Noel Pachta, Albina Pachta, Bobby Pachta, David Pachta, Carol Pachta Muñoz, Darwin Pachta, and Kathy Pachta Harrison.

Ann's impact on the Albuquerque community was profound, as she served as the Cafeteria Manager for Albuquerque Public Schools for many years. Her warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of countless students who crossed her path each day. She approached her work with dedication and love, leaving an indelible mark on those she encountered.

Beyond her professional life, Ann found joy in various hobbies that brought light into the lives of those around her. An avid bowler and league secretary at several bowling alleys through the Albuquerque area where she spent countless hours sharing laughter with friends while pursuing strikes with passion. Her enthusiasm extended beyond bowling; Ann was also known for being an accomplished crafter and seamstress whose creativity knew no bounds.

As a lifelong resident of New Mexico, Ann embodied strength through adversity while always maintaining grace under pressure. Her resilience inspired all who were fortunate enough to know her.  Ann's kindness knew no limits as she selflessly gave herself to others without hesitation or reservation.

In addition to leaving behind cherished memories within the hearts of family members and friends alike - Roma "Ann" Pachta McGehee will be remembered during a memorial service held at Sandia Baptist Church located at 9429 Constitution Ave NE on Saturday, September 28th at 10:00 A.M., followed by a reception from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at Holiday Bowl Bowling Alley in the restaurant patio area located at 7515 Lomas Blvd N.E.

As we mourn this tremendous loss together let us take solace in knowing that Roma "Ann" Pachta McGehee has left behind an enduring legacy built upon love shared unconditionally throughout our community.
