Robert “Bob” Glenn Rudisill, age 87, died peacefully September 19, 2024, in Concord, NC. He was born in Lincolnton, NC on April 15, 1937, to the late Rob and Christine Rudisill.  Bob’s childhood was spent in Duke Power construction villages in both Carolinas; his mother said of that time that he attended 13 different schools in 12 years. Following graduation from high school, his lifelong love of airplanes led him to join the US Air Force. Following his years of service, he moved back to North Carolina and worked for Duke Energy for 32 years until his retirement. Bob lived to serve others and was a dedicated caregiver to his parents, wife Kay, numerous cats and dogs, and friends at Taylor Glen retirement home where he lived since 2007. He was an active and dedicated member of Paw Creek Presbyterian Church. Bob loved piloting small planes, cars, playing golf and pool with his buddies, spending time with his family, good books, and supporting numerous charities.

Bob is survived by his brother Harron Eugene Rudisill; son Jim Rudisill and wife Vallette; daughter Jennifer Huff and husband Peter; grandchildren Christen Calloway, Robert Rudisill, Matthew Huff, and Walker Huff; great-grandchildren Sandra and Owen Calloway; and ex-wife Betty Miller. Bob was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Kay. Bob’s family thanks the staff at Taylor Glen for their kind and dedicated care. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Paw Creek Presbyterian Church on October 5, 2024, at 11:00 am. Contributions in Bob’s memory can be made to a charity supporting veterans, children, or the environment.
