The Springs Funeral Services - Platte
Wai Fong Ma Lee
December 31st, 1938 - September 22nd, 2024
Wai Fong Lee of Colorado Springs, Colorado went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2024 at the age of 85. She was born on December 18, 1938 in Toysan, China.
She met her husband, Sam Lee, in 1956 and they were married in 1959 in Hong Kong. They immigrated to the United States in 1975 and lived in New York City, New York for forty-one years. They moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in December 2016.
Wai Fong lived a brave and devoted life. She survived the harsh conditions of Japanese-occupied China during World War II. She subsequently fled to Hong Kong to escape the Communist regime. She immigrated to the United States with a determination to build a new life for her family. With just a high school level education and the disadvantage of not being able to speak or write much English, she worked long hours daily as a seamstress in New York City's garment industry near Chinatown. Even though she earned very little, she gave and saved to support her family during those difficult years. More than her physical endurance is her unwavering faith in God which propelled her life. She led her family to active faith in the Lord and in the church. She exemplified humility and godliness in the way she lived and worked. She passed on her faith and values to her children in practical ways. Despite her battles with multiple physical ailments during the latter years of her life, Wai Fong continued to worship and lived in gratefulness to God for His blessings on her and her family. Her faith in God is the hallmark of her life.
Wai Fong is survived by her son, Jayson (Esther); daughter, Susan (Bill) Ayrault; four grandchildren, David Ayrault, Jeremy Ayrault, Jordan Lee, and Carissa Lee.
Graveside Service 11:00AM, Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Evergreen Cemetery.
