Robert (Bob) Warren Greene III died peacefully at home in Sutter Creek, California on September 18, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bob was born in Oahu, Hawaii on April 3, 1952, to Robert Warren Greene Jr and Mary Sears Corfield.  He spent his childhood in both Hawaii and San Diego as his father worked for the Navy. During his teens in Hawaii, he developed his love for golf and surfing.

Bob, who is locally known for his computer prowess, started his professional career in the Silicon Valley in the 70s. He was thrilled to be able to travel for his work in the 80s to Asia, Europe, and New Zealand. After moving to Amador County, he became the county’s computer go-to guy. He was known for his funny, sarcastic sense of humor. He was available 364 days a year (his wife, Pam, insisted he take Christmas off!). His clients were amazed with his uncanny ability to find just the part he was looking for amongst his huge pile of “computer stuff.” Many of his clients became his close friends.

Since Bob was young, his true passion was playing golf, and he was pretty impressive. From the time his health problems began in 2008 with his first cancer diagnosis, he was always upbeat and positive. Even after he became disabled in 2013, he always retained his good attitude and never felt sorry for himself. When he could no longer play golf, he just watched A LOT of golf on TV!

Bob was a trivia master! With his love of a variety of genres of music, his specialty was the Music Round. Every Thursday night Bob and his wife Pam, and their close friends were part of Team Clueless at Hotel Sutter.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Robert Warren Greene Jr and Mary Sears Corfield, his sister Betty Greene, and his brother Bruce Greene. He is survived by his wife Pamela Greene, son Alex Greene (Vanessa), daughter Jessica Greene, and stepdaughter Amelia Weatherly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Native Son’s Hall in Sutter Creek on Saturday, January 4th at 3 pm. In the Aloha spirit of Bob, Hawaiian attire is encouraged. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Amador or Sutter Creek Community Benefit Foundation. So, it is time to say, “Bye Bob,” to which he would respond, “Bob is for rent, not for sale!”
