Alice Henderson

Alice Henderson, nee Augello, adopted O’Neill, a beloved member of the Mesa Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, passed away on Sept. 17, 2024 at Mesa Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa, AZ at the age of 71. Born in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Marjorie Cantwell (nee Kent) and Angelo Augello, she lived most of her life in and around Boston, Massachusetts before moving to Arizona in 2018.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-fathers, her ex-husband, Arthur Henderson, and former partner, Athanasios Maragos, and the many friends she sat vigil by as they took their last breaths.

Alice is survived by her beloved daughter and cherished Son In Law Panayiota and Nicholas Tortorelli of Mesa, AZ. She is also survived by her siblings Patricia Anderson of Morris, CT, Betty Augello Zipoy of Las Vegas, NV and Harry Augello of FL, and her nieces and nephews, along with her chosen family members including Kitty and Jordan Ceppi of Mission Hills, CA and Joyce Evans of Mesa, AZ, Steve Greechi of FL, Patricia Urevith of NY, Alvene and Larry Breaux of MA, and Pat and Rosalie Demaio of MA, and two dogs Mocha and Chai.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wyman Cremation & Burial Chapel of Mesa.

A memorial service will be held on Sept 30, 2024 at 6:30PM MST/(9:30PM EDT) at the Kingdom Hall at 3441 N San Marcos Pl, Chandler AZ 85225. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jehovah’s Witnesses or the Beth Israel Lahey Health Joslin Diabetes Center.

Alice was a faithful servant of Jehovah, known for her unwavering love, kindness, and devotion to her friends and family.

Alice will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.
