David G. LeVear peacefully departed this life on September 28, 2024, in Macon, Georgia. David was a man of unwavering loyalty and kindness, virtues that defined his character and his relationships with family and friends. All services for David G. LeVear will be held privately, honoring his family's wishes. In lieu of public gatherings, the family kindly requests that condolences and memories be shared in personal, meaningful ways.

 

He was born on February 3, 1942, in Gilford, England to the late George LeVear and Dorothy Clever LeVear. David served proudly and honorably as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War.  He received several medals for his bravery including the Purple Heart Medal.  His dedication to his country continued as he embarked on a distinguished career as an Aircraft Electrician. A committed civil servant, David spent many years with Robins Air Force Base, where his skills and dedication were deeply valued.

 

A faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church, David lived his life grounded in faith and principles. He was known for his loyalty and kindness, always extending a helping hand and a compassionate heart to those around him.

 

David leaves behind his beloved wife, Cecilia Thigpen LeVear, and his cherished daughters, Lisa Dastous (Marc) and Kimberly LeVear. He is also survived by his adored grandson, Benoit Dastous, his sister Veronica Kuta, and several nieces and nephews.

David's legacy of loyalty and kindness will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. He will be dearly missed.
