Judith "Judy" Anne McIntyre
May 8th, 1939 - September 24th, 2024
Judith (Judy) Anne McIntyre went home to see her Savior on September 24, 2024, surrounded by her daughters. Judy is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Del McIntyre. Judy and Del have two daughters, Elaine Streeter and husband, Mike; Amy Lathen and husband, Bob; six grandchildren, Emily Kemnetz (married to Andrew), Nicholas Lathen (married to Anna), Brandon Streeter (married to Lara), Gavin and Grant Streeter and Zachary Lathen; one great grandson, Wilder; and one great grandson on the way.
Judy was born in Omaha, NE in 1939, which is where she later met and married Del. They moved to Denver to start their family and eventually back to Ogallala, NE to build their home and family. Judy was quickly known for her humor and love of cooking and hospitality. She spent her life studying the Word of God and teaching Sunday School and Bible studies to all ages, from preschool to eighties! Judy studied and taught Scripture for more than 50 years.
Judy also taught special education in Nebraska and worked for 12 years at Focus on the Family, after moving to Colorado Springs in 1984.
There is just no way to describe her love of her family and her Savior. She doted on her children and grandchildren and was happiest with a home full of family, tons of laughter, poker games (keep the joker in), a few goofy practical jokes and classic movies.
Given the time of year, there is no doubt that when Judy entered Heaven, Del was there to greet her with absolute jubilation and a bag of freshly-picked zucchini and tomatoes from his heavenly garden. How dearly she will be missed here, even though she is dancing with Jesus for whom she lived her entire life.
A brief memorial and inurnment service will be held for Judy at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery on Oct. 21st at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to an Alzheimer’s Research organization. And in honor of Judy, please read Scripture, seeking and loving Christ with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.
