William Grainger “Bill” Lesesne of Lexington, SC, died on October 1, 2024. He is survived by his spouse Ellen Norton Lesesne, his three children, Gray Lesesne (Ethan Bradley) of Indianapolis, IN, Lauren Lesesne Palkowski (Jeff) of Charleston, and Troy Lesesne (Amanda) of McLean, VA, his brother James Patrick Lesesne of Elgin, and four grandchildren: Tripp and Sarah Anne Sponseller of Lexington and Drew and Logan Lesesne of McLean, VA. He was predeceased by his parents James Henry Lesesne and Alma Frances Grainger Lesesne and his brother Ralph Dixon Lesesne.

 

Born on June 29, 1950, Bill attended Columbia High School and the University of South Carolina, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. Along with his parents and brothers, Bill was a leader in the family’s businesses over the years, including Arnold Palmer Dry Cleaners, Arnold’s Uniforms, and Lesesne Industries, where he served as President until his death. He was an avid golfer and cherished his many friendships and connections made through his active membership in West Columbia Rotary Club, Lexington Chamber of Commerce, Lexington Business Networking International, and Mount Hebron United Methodist Church. 

 

A memorial service will be on Tuesday, October 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church in West Columbia. The family will receive callers after the service. A private interment will precede the liturgy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church or to the Little Warrior Foundation or to Mission Lexington in Bill’s memory.
