Elizabeth Desman
November 26th, 1937 - September 3rd, 2024
Elizabeth Foreman Desman, 86, of Tucson, AZ, passed away peacefully on September 3 rd , 2024, with family by her side. Elizabeth spent her life in loving service to her family, her church, and her community. As an educator and musician, Elizabeth touched countless lives with her love of music. Her steadfast faith, humility, and love for others set an example for all who knew her.
Elizabeth received her Master of Arts Degree in Music from Marshall University in 1969. Her career encompassed teaching music in many ways: she was an elementary school music teacher in WV, NC, and AZ, she spent many years volunteering as a children’s choir director at Catalina United Methodist church, and she taught piano for most of her life. She was a member of the Catalina United Methodist Sanctuary Choir from the early 1970’s until her passing.
Elizabeth was an active member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and enjoyed many years of reading and discussing books in the Book Buddies book club. She was an artist and watercolorist. Elizabeth loved to travel, especially if it involved seeing her family or the Pacific Ocean.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Denzel A. and Lexie L. Lambert, her brother Jack A. Lambert, and her three loving husbands Charles M. Kinder, passed in 1969, Dr. John H. Foreman, passed in 1992, and Russell W. Desman, passed in 2012.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughters Teresa and Rebecca, her grandchildren Stefanie (Sergio), Stuart (Gina), Ryan (Kim), Kelly (Seth), William (Isadora), and Teresa (Kevin), and her great-grandchildren Matthew, Elizabeth, Nolan, Reagan, and Marigold.
Elizabeth’s life will be celebrated on October 26 th , 2024, at 4:00pm in the sanctuary of Catalina United Methodist Church, 2700 E Speedway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85716. There will be a reception in the Fellowship Hall following the service. All who knew Elizabeth are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Elizabeth’s memory to charities she supported: TMM Family Services, Inc., The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, or to Catalina United Methodist Church Organ Fund.
