Richard (Dick) Hunt McInroy, 91, of Canisteo, New York passed away peacefully in Englewood, Florida on October 2, 2024. He was born on July 8, 1933 to Harry and Rosetta McInroy in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania.
He was a math teacher for 33 years. He would say his best jobs were hunting and fishing.
Dick married the love of his life Joan Campbell on June 16, 1956. They enjoyed a fabulous 64 years together. He enjoyed spending his summers on Keuka Lake and his winters in Englewood Florida hunting the beach for shark teeth and sea glass. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time on his land, and cherished his time with family.
Dick was predeceased by his wife Joan, his parents Harry and Rosetta, in-laws Roy and Marie, and brother William (Bill).
He is survived by his beloved family including sons Harry (Bridget) McInroy, and Rick (Dawn) McInroy, grandchildren Jennifer (Joe Notafrancesco) McInroy, Jessica (Eric) Hallas, Jim (Alicia) McInroy and Brielle McInroy, great grandchildren Carter, Ellie and Kiefer McInroy, and Benjamin Hallas, former daughter-in-law Cindy McInroy, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tidewell Foundation 3550 S Tamiami Trail FL 1 Sarasota, Florida 34239-9939 in memory of Richard H. McInroy.
