Cynthia Trail passed away peacefully at her home on October 2, 2024. Born in Kent, England, she was a daughter of the late Jack Quinnell and Tessa Quinnell. Cynthia was a masterful storyteller, and she constantly enthralled friends and family with her adventures in Uganda as a young woman, where she met her husband, John Trail. Their first child, Jackie was born in Kampala, Uganda, and the family returned to Dunstable, England, where their family was completed by the birth of their son, Andrew. Cynthia was also an accomplished artist, and could draw horses from memory, and created beautiful watercolor landscapes. In 2006, Cynthia and John moved to the United States to be with their son and two grandchildren. She was the light in every room; those who knew her loved her, and she will be dearly missed.
Cynthia is survived by her son, Andrew Trail (Lea) of Lexington; sister, Jackie Atkins (David) of Bulgaria; grandchildren, Tessa Crosby (Bradley), Daniel Trail (Megan), Charlotte Atkins; great granddaughter, Africa; expectant great granddaughter Crosby; brother, John Quinnell (Pam) of Andover, England; sister, Helen Brown of Folkstone, England. Cynthia is also survived by her best canine friend, Lola. In addition to her parents, Cynthia was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, John Trail.
