Sandra "Sandy" Jean McCoy

Sandra (Sandy) Jean McCoy, born on February 16, 1957, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully October 2, 2024.

In 1960, Sandy's family moved to Titusville, Florida, where her father began a career at NASA. The family later settled in Satellite Beach and built a home in Indian Harbour Beach in 1966, where she lived a carefree childhood playing with friends, swimming in the pool, boating and sailing. Sandy attended local schools and furthered her education at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she earned her undergraduate degree.  While at the University of Florida, Sandy caught a free concert of an unknown artist named Jimmy Buffett and she fell in love with his music. His music became a staple in our lives, whether we were chilling at our parents’ home, cruising the water, or exploring Key Largo.

Returning to Satellite Beach, Sandy pursued her passion for dental hygiene, and obtained an advanced degree from the Florida Institute of Technology. For nearly 20 years, she worked as a dental hygienist.  Sandy returned to school to earn her nursing degree and worked as a registered nurse until her retirement in 2022.

After retirement, Sandy enjoyed a relaxed beachside life, with her beloved kitty, Maggie.

Sandy will be remembered as a highly intelligent, kind, and loving sister, aunt, grandaunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
