Thelma "Beany" McNeal
March 11th, 1945 - September 30th, 2024
"The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation". Psalm 118:14
Thelma McNeal, affectionately known as Beany to family and friends, went on to her heavenly home on September 30, 2024.
Thelma was born March 11, 1945, to Thelma and Lovec McNeal in Toledo, Ohio. She was married to Charles C. Moody for 10 years before moving to Seattle, Washington. There she graduated top of her class from the National Broadcasting School. She achieved her dream of moving to California to do camera and videography work. To be close to family, she returned to the Northwest and eventually retired from being an Executive Assistant in banking.
Beany enjoyed playing card games, bingo, and watching poker competitions. She loved music, comedies, and scary movies so much that she would watch the same movie or sing the same song 1000 times over. Always demonstrating Black Queen Magic, she was strong, loved passionately, and gave her family and friends her heart. She loved to laugh and just enjoy all that God created, while always giving Him the glory.
She was preceded in death by her loving daughter Gwendolyn McNeal Brown; her parents; her four brothers: Ernest “Mack,” Clarence “Bill,” Londell “Landy,” Kenneth “Kenny;” and one sister, Sharleyan 'Shirley" Wilson.
She leaves to cherish in her memory her daughter Charlene (Aaron) Smith, her grandchildren: Taujanic McNeal, Thasia Awad, Tierra Groomes, Russell Foster Jr., Twila (Anthony) Wilson, Aaron Smith Jr., Solomon Smith; her sister, Lillie Gray; her brother, Charles, and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
