In Loving Memory
Ronnie Armstrong, of Gaston, SC., passed away peacefully in her home October 5th at the age of 85.
She was born January 22, 1939 in Washington, DC to Father Ronald Macdonald and Mother Charlotte Walter Macdonald. Preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Jon Armstrong and grandson, Jon Douglas Armstrong Jr. Ronnie is survived by her son, Jon Armstrong; sister Jean Schmaus; granddaughter, Jennifer Ashley McCurry; great grandchildren, Grant, Jacob, Tagen; as well as nephew, Donnie Schmaus; and niece, Karen Schmaus.
Aside from being a loving wife and mother, Ronnie was a founding member of the Deerfield Women’s Club at Surfside Beach, SC where she worked and retired as a successful realtor and broker. Ronnie loved the outdoors, especially the beach and spent many years RV’ing with her high school sweet heart Jon and the many friends they met along the way.
Jon would like to thank those that helped provide around the clock care for Ronnie over the last few years, Tonya Clausing and Melissa Kelly.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at Thompson Funeral Home 4720 Augusta Road Lexington, SC 29073 from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
