Katherine Mary Perkins
May 29th, 1948 - September 28th, 2024
Katherine Perkins, 76, beloved mother, wife, sister, and Busia passed away on September 28, 2024, in Meridian, Idaho. She was born to John and Edna Flor on May 29, 1948, in Rochester, New York. Katherine attended St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish School and graduated from Bishop Kearney High School in 1966.
Katherine was working at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester where she met a guy from Idaho. Lance and Katherine were married at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on May 10, 1969. They later welcomed three sons and one daughter into their family. In 1970 they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho to work in a family photographic business. They later made their home in Pocatello, Idaho.
Katherine enjoyed working in her yard and was the ultimate green thumb. Every year she made sure it was so beautiful with many flowers and other plants she cared for. She always loved the many compliments she would receive on her yard. Katherine’s true passion, however, was Genealogy. Katherine spent countless hours researching her family history in Poland. Katherine fulfilled her dream of visiting Poland when she was able to travel there with two of her sisters in 2012.
Despite living in Idaho for so long Katherine’s heart belonged in Rochester. In the early years Katherine would pack all four of her kids in the family VW bus and drive 2,000 miles across the country to spend the summers in New York. In later years, her visits included spending time with her family there and attending the Polish Festival every year put on by St. Stanislaus Church.
Katherine was an outstanding cook and always prepared a giant Sunday dinner for everyone to enjoy. Within the last few years Katherine moved to Meridian, Idaho to be closer to her children who lived in the area. She was able to enjoy two of her grandchildren on a full-time basis which made her extremely happy and kept her very busy. Above all Katherine or “Busia” as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Her favorite thing in life was being with her family.
Katherine is survived by her husband of 55 years Lance Perkins of Pocatello, Idaho, son Gerard (Anmarie) Perkins of Pocatello, ID, son Chris Perkins of Boise, ID, son Todd (Shere) Perkins of Caldwell, Idaho, and daughter Ali (Charles) Crafts of Meridian, Idaho; grandchildren Bailey, Lilley, Edie, Cassidy, Emme and Max; sisters Theresa Cobb of Bath, NY, Frances O’Loughlin of Greece, NY, Janet Flor of Richford, NY, Cecelia (John) Slivick of Greece, NY, Carolyn Sypniak of Greece, NY, and brother Stephen (Kristie) Flor of Sodus Point, NY. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Edna Flor, sister Vivian Schneider, sister Marilyn Flor, and niece Katherine Cobb.
Katherine’s life will be celebrated on October 9, 2024, with a mass at 11:00 a.m. at Saint John’s Cathedral in Boise, Idaho. There will be a family prayer service at 10:30 a.m. prior to mass. Interment will take place immediately following at the Meridian Cemetery in Meridian, Idaho. A luncheon will follow. Accent Funeral Home in Meridian will be handling funeral arrangements.

Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
