Dennis Donald Sagstetter, age 85, passed away peacefully at M Health Fairview-St. John’s Hospital on August 29, 2024.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Erma, his brothers Ervin, Francis and Roger, and by his son David (Judy).
Dennis is survived by his wife of 58 years – Barbara; his children, Deborah, Wanda (Garth), Patrick (Victoria) and Sue (Roger); as well as 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grand-children, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Dennis was a very social guy and often enjoyed a good party with friends. He was an avid boater, and loved the time he spent on the river in Hudson, WI. Dennis was an active member of the St. Croix Marina, and spent several years as president of the Marina Yacht Club. He enjoyed the camaraderie and numerous boat trips, with as many as 30 boats cruising together downstream. He was also a lifelong cribbage player, continuing his regular cribbage games even through COVID by moving online with his buddies.
Dennis worked for the MN Department of Revenue for over 20 years prior to his retirement. He really enjoyed his work there and loved his work family.
Dennis and Barb enjoyed opportunities to travel and see other parts of the world. He had the pleasure of visiting England, Ireland, Germany, Spain and China.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Dennis' honor in June. Details to follow.
