Warren Dale Pachek, 75, of Loveland, Colorado, passed away peacefully on September 18th, 2024. His Celebration of Life will be 11:00am, Tuesday, October 15th, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loveland. A luncheon will follow. You are invited to join the family.
Warren was born on April 5th, 1949, in La Junta, Colorado, to Betty and Clyde Pachek. He graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1967, was an Eagle Scout of Troup 232, and felt honored to be a member of the Kiva and the Koshare Indian Dancers. Warren and the other dancers traveled and performed across the United States.
He was proud of his service in the US Navy, July 1967- July 1971. Warren enlisted as a senior in high school. Following bootcamp he served as a Brig Chaser based out of Corpus Christy, Texas. During his two tours in Vietnam, he was Brown Water, delivering troops, vehicles, and supplies on the Perfume River from Cửa Việt to Quảng Trị, and Hue. He and the crew endured unique hardship and great danger. He later served on plane guard duty. Warren then served as an engineman aboard the USS Bradley. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, a Navy Unit Commendation, Vietnam Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Warren was known for his infectious smile and jovial spirit. He loved God and his family, spoiled his dogs, and served the community for many years through Overland Sertoma. He had a passion for woodworking. enjoyed golfing and entertaining, and relished poker with his friends. He could also spend hours fishing with his wife, although Warren would tell you that much of his time was spent putting worms on the hook.
Warren is survived by his wife, Kathryn “Katie” Pachek; his daughters, Dionne Harmon, her husband Scott, and their sons Christopher and Chase; Luanne Cunningham, her husband Ryan, and their sons Hunter and Nicholas; and the mother of his daughters, Anita Smith; his stepdaughters, Merissa Carlson, her children Morgan, Makayla, Mason, Madison, and Morgan's son Weston; and Elizabeth Carlson and her husband Christopher Leonard. Warren is also survived by his sister, Diana Talley, and her husband Rod; his mother-in-law Elma “Dolly” Endicott; Katie's brothers, her sister, and their families; other extended family and many beloved friends.
Warren was predeceased by his parents, Betty Cherry and Clyde Pachek, and brother-in-law, Dean Fordyce.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “Honor Flight Northern Colorado” or the “American Heart Association.”
