Cyril "Dick" Richard Deane
September 19th, 1932 - October 6th, 2024
In loving memory of Cyril Richard “Dick” Deane who passed away on October 6, 2024, in Santa Cruz with his loving wife of 72 years holding his hand.
He was born on September 19, 1932 in Santa Cruz to Cyril and Marjorie Deane.
Dick graduated from Santa Cruz High in 1950. He then became an insurance agent and also joined the Santa Cruz Fire Department. In 1977, he and his wife bought Andell's Travel and were able to travel the world.
Dick is survived by his wife, Marilyn Ardis Deane, sons Craig Deane and Bob Deane with daughter-in-law Linda Deane, and daughter Denice “Nicki” Wood, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cyril and Marjorie Deane, brother Rene Deane, and his son-in-law Barry Wood.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 1:00pm at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel located at 1050 Cayuga Street in Santa Cruz. Military honors will be rendered by the Navy Honor Guard at the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Native Son's of the Golden West or to a charity of your choice.
