John Sanders

John Marvin Sanders, 53 of Kingsport, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, from a biking accident in Arkansas.
John was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and a great friend to many. John was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Kingsport, a Chemical Engineer with Eastman Chemical Company and had a long career with Domtar in Kingsport. John was born in Port Arthur, Texas, raised in Ashdown, Arkansas and a graduate from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was a member of Kappa Alpha order and was often seen sporting his Razorback red! John loved his family, faith, sports and nature. He was an avid snow skier, fisherman, golfer and tennis player. In 2013, John was an integral part of a Tri-Cities based team that won a United States Tennis Association National Championship.
John was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Marcellas and Sara Sanders of Mineral Springs, Arkansas and his maternal grandparents John and Catherine Sava of Texarkana, Arkansas.
He is survived by his loving wife Heather Sanders, daughters Lauren (fiancé Tanner Clark) and Kristen Sanders of Kingsport, TN. His parents Jim and Jeanne Sanders of Hot Springs Village Arkansas. His brother Steven and wife Amy Sanders (Emily, Abbey, Luke) of Bentonville, Arkansas, his sister Karen Nelson and husband Joe (Miranda) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, his in-laws Harold and Nancy Henderson of Wooster, Arkansas, his brother-in-law Bryan and Millie Henderson (Juliana, Jake, Brenna, Austin, Collin) of Johnson City, Tennessee and many uncles, aunts, and cousins that brought great joy to his life.
The family will receive friends from 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Grace Fellowship Church, 1 Fellowship Pointe, Kingsport, TN 37660. A Celebration of John’s Life will immediately follow with Pastor Joel Owen officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations requested for Samaritan’s Purse Hurricane Helene Relief.
