Joseph Lazzara

Joseph Lazzara, 94, of Ocala, FL, passed away on October 6, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family.

Joe was born in Chicago, IL on April 9, 1930, to Christine and Anthony Lazzara. In 1950 Joe married the love of his life, Charlotte Wubbenhorst, who preceded him in death. Joe is survived by his three children, Marlene (Michael Landauer), Laura (Tim Magnusson), and Joseph (Karen); his 8 grandchildren, Kristin, Dan, Gina, Chad, Janell, Leianne, Lauren, and Tony; and his five great-grandchildren.

Joe worked as a grocery meat manager, and in his free time enjoyed golfing, tennis, and spending time with his family and friends. Joe was an exceptional stained-glass artist having created hundreds of windows and lamps.

Joe and Charlotte were avid square dancers. Joe also enjoyed spending summers at his log cabin in Michigan, singing in church and community choirs, and playing his accordion. He faithfully attended mass and enjoyed being an active member of his church. Joe will be missed by all but is now in the hands of our Lord.

The viewing will be held at Hiers-Baxley Timber Ridge, 9695 SW 110th St, Ocala, FL 34481, on Wednesday, October 16th from 3-6 pm.

The funeral mass will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 6455 SW State Rd 200, Ocala, FL 34476, on Thursday, October 17th at 8:30 am.

Burial will be held immediately following the funeral mass, at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102 Ave, Bushnell, Fl. 33513.
