Constance Carmelita Davidson Mares was born on February 7th 1933 ,and passed peacefully away on October 3rd 2004 at the age of 91, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of Alphonse Mares and Abranita Martinez Romero Mares.

On November 18th, 1961 she married Ernest Davidson, that marriage lasted for 44 years until Ernest passed away on November 24th 2005.

Constance had seven (8) children: Alice, Elvinna, Michael, Tammy, Laura, Tina, Aaron and Paul.

She was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great great grandchildren.

At the tender age of 12 Constance started working. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital Orphanage.

Through her work at St. Joseph's, her heartfelt desire to help raise children in a loving and nurturing environment gave way to the many many children she cared for while doing in-home daycare. She dedicated her life to them for thirty (30) years. She loved the children.

Later on in life Connie spent her life fighting for social justice. She was part of several movements for justice including working alongside Corky Gonzalez and Russell Means, a Native American activist and actor. In 1977 she was given the honor to present President Jimmy Carter documents from the American Indian Movement (AIM) to fight for Native American Rights.

Connie also worked for solidarity between the Jewish and Arab movements. Connie's passion for helping others brought her happiness. She was an advocate for children, the homeless, equal rights and women's rights. She was a leader in her community and she stood up for what she believed in and she never gave up.

Connie was a beautiful soul who touched everyone's lives with her purple hair, her big shades, contagious laughter, her smile and sense of humor. She was quick to share her words of wisdom, her words of encouragement and her love for all. She will truly be missed.

Following the funeral service, there will be a celebration of life at Northglenn Elks Lodge (10969 Irma Dr. Northglenn, CO 80233)
