Carol Jean Riedl
May 1st, 1938 - October 10th, 2024
Carol Jean Riedl, 86, of Jefferson passed away peacefully at home on Thursday afternoon, October 10, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
Carol was born on May 1, 1938 to Edwin J. and Amanda (Weber) Miller. On July 8, 1961 Carol married the love of her life, Lyle Riedl, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church and together they raised their wonderful children.
Carol was a faithful member at St. Lawrence Catholic Church attending Mass daily when possible and a member of the Council of Catholic Women.
She enjoyed baking, cooking, playing cards, taking care of her grandchildren, attending family gatherings, and weekly visits with her sisters. Carol was always willing to help wherever and whenever she could. She was the best listener anyone could have and had a smile for everyone.
Carol is survived by her husband, Lyle; children, John (Etta) Riedl, Joseph (Chelle Rue) Riedl, Mary (Gregory) Shafer, JoAnn (Kasie Mertzig) Riedl; grandchildren, Nikki Lewis, Kimberly (Dave) Adams, Josh (Amanda) Lewis, Amanda Riedl, James (Hannah) Riedl, Britney (Nick) Baertschy, Anthony (Andrea Caminata) Riedl, Emma Riedl, Cody Shafer, Christina (Andrew) Lillge, Thomas (Kayla) Shafer; Great Grandchildren, Connor, Elijah, Emilietta, Brooks, Graceyn, Collins, Mila, Liam, Christian, and Jadon; Sisters, Marion (Allan) Klokow, Rosemary Miller, Janet (William) Balaam; Sister-in-Law, Elizabeth (Raymond) Miller;many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Amanda Miller; and brothers, Robert Miller, Raymond Miller, and Ernie( Karen) Miller. Mom and her beautiful smile will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A mass of Christian burial will take place at 11AM on Friday, October 18, 2024 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Jefferson. A visitation will take place from 9:30AM until the time of service. A burial will take place immediately following mass at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.
Donations in Carol’s name can be made to EWTN, St. Lawrence Catholic Church or a Memorial Mass of your choosing.
