Mary Charlene Jackson
April 29th, 1935 - October 10th, 2024
Charlene Jackson was born on April 29, 1935, in Emmett, Idaho, to Clara Faye Ivie and Thomas Fairchild. She graduated from Ontario High School in 1953, where she was a member of the state qualifying tennis team. Charlene married Jess Jackson, her high school sweetheart, on September 9, 1953, in an elopement in Winnemucca, NV. She worked in the billing office for many years at the Ontario Clinic and then as an office manager at the Women’s Clinic for Dr. Sigurdson. Charlene enjoyed canning, knitting, crocheting, reading, family, and most of all babies. She often joined Jess and the family on fishing and hunting excursions where she was the head cook. She was a long-time member and secretary of Park Community Church on the Oregon Slope. Charlene will be best remembered because of her witticisms she shared on a regular basis.
Charlene Jackson went home to be with her Lord on October 10, 2024, in Ontario, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather Louis Pando, son Bret, and granddaughter Erin. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Jess, daughter Kelly (Hal) Grace, and sons Brian and Kevin (Tessie) Jackson, 8 grandchildren, 13-great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, in addition to her half-sister Linda Wilkins.
Memorials can be mailed to Park Community Church, 5136 Kimball Rd, Ontario, OR 97914, or to your favorite charity.
The family would like to thank Sunset Estates and Canyon Home Health & Hospice for their special care and attention.
