John Emanuel Miller
June 30th, 1940 - October 11th, 2024
Johnny Miller, 84, of Loveland, CO, passed away peacefully at home on October 11, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Brush, CO, in 1940, Johnny lived a life rich in love for his family, music, faith, and friendship.
Johnny was married to his high school sweetheart, Diane Miller (Stroh), for 65 years. Together, they raised a close-knit family: their daughter Kim (Randy) Specht of Greeley, CO, and son Kurt (Christie) Miller of Lone Tree, CO. He was a proud grandfather to Matthew (Jada) Specht of Eaton, CO, Shelly (Tyler) Dilley of Greeley, CO, Kalee (Kevin) Davis of Parker, CO, and Tyler (Katherine) Miller of Parker, CO. Johnny also cherished his six great-grandchildren: Sawyer Dilley, Wyatt Dilley, Dax Specht, Shay Davis, Laney Davis, and Beau Miller. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Vicki (Ron) Edwards of Fort Morgan, CO, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emanuel and Esther (Amen) Miller; his in-laws, Dan and Lydia (Meininger) Stroh; and his sisters, Peggy (Darwin) Tomky and Florence (John) Kembel.
Johnny attended Fort Morgan schools, graduating in 1958. His love of music began early, and as a teenager, he traveled around Eastern Colorado playing in country bands. He later shared his passion for music by teaching the accordion and guitar. For several years he made multiple trips to Italy to procure accordions. He was also an accomplished pianist.
Johnny embarked on a successful 50-year career in the paint industry, where he forged lasting friendships with colleagues and clients. Even after attempting to retire, his energetic spirit kept him busy with a few more jobs that kept him on the move. The relationships he built throughout his career remained the true highlights of his professional life.
A devoted family man and dedicated Christian, Johnny loved sharing his faith with others. His warm and friendly nature made him a friend to everyone he met. Known for his love of gardening and woodworking, Johnny was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed skeet shooting. He and Diane cherished the time they spent camping, attending their grandkids’ sporting events, and making memories on Disney trips and cruises with family and friends.
Johnny’s ability to connect with people was remarkable. He had a talent for turning strangers into friends, often leaving a room with several new companions, no matter their age. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
