Jacqueline Jean (Jacobson) Ainey from Olympia, WA, peacefully passed away in the early hours of October 3, 2024. She was born in Wing, ND on February 18, 1938 then moved to Washington State the following year. Jackie attended school in the Vancouver area where she met her lifelong friend Delores (Royle) Anderson. She graduated from Fort Vancouver High School in 1956. She married Larry D. Otos in 1959 and had 3 children. The family moved to Olympia in 1972. After divorcing her husband in 1974, she began working at the Washington State Utilities & Transportation Commission where she made lifelong friendships with Virgie, Linda, and Barb. She also met her second husband, James G Ainey, and were married in 1984. 

 

Jackie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, her daily crossword puzzles, tending to her Hostas and Gerbera daisies, reading, and her PBS shows.

 

Jackie is survived by her sister, Gerry Ramoni of San Jose, CA, her devoted sons, Larry (Lisa) Otos of Mt. Vernon, Wa and Ed (Debbie) Otos of Olympia, Wa., and her estranged daughter Laura (Kirk) Bruce. She had 5 grandchildren, Connor and Carter Otos, Mark and Ryan Cantrell, and Kelsey Otos. She also had 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Jim Ainey, her brother Wally Jacobson, and her sister Pam Warren. Jackie had a great support system in Stacey Tice, Danielle Smith, and Robbie Tice. She made many friends in her apartment building, including her dear friend Marsha C. 

 

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Capital Medical Center for the outstanding and compassionate care Jackie received. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date
