MSgt John R. Heckler passed away Early on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. John was 90 years old. He was born on October 11, 1933 in Albuquerque, NM to Rudolph and Helen Heckler. He graduated from Albuquerque High in 1952. John was married to his wife, Delores for 57 years and proudly served his country in the US Air Force, retiring as MSgt after many years of faithful service. John loved hunting, fishing and golf. He also enjoyed attending concerts and community events. John loved spending time with his loved ones and was affectionately known as “Papa”, “Pops” and “Dear Old Dad” to name a few. He will be greatly missed.
John was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Helen, his brother, Donald, his loving wife, Delores and his daughter Kathleen Baca. He is survived by his children; John Jr. (Donna) Heckler, Mary Valencia, David (Dorothy) Heckler, Brian Heckler, his partner of 7 years, Lou Renee Stanesic,13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A Rosary will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 8:00 am followed by a Catholic Mass at 8:30 am at Our Lady of The Annunciation Catholic Church located at 2621 Vermont St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Burial service to follow at a later date.
Pallbearers will be grandsons William Valencia, Dennis James Valencia, Angelo Valencia, Charles Valencia and great grandsons Aidan Suazo and Jonny Suazo. Honorary pallbearers will be John’s remaining grandchildren.
