Heverly Ayonne Beckford May 20th, 1952 - October 3rd, 2024.Born in Balaclava, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, Heverly left her homeland at the tender age of 16 to join her family in the United Kingdom. Her formative years were shaped by the cultural richness of both Jamaica and the UK. Upon her arrival in London, she enrolled in the prestigious London College of Fashion, where her passion for fashion and beauty blossomed. Always seeking to expand her knowledge, she attended industry conferences and seminars.After spending several years in London, her family relocated to Boston, Massachusetts. During her time in Boston, she worked as a dedicated home healthcare provider for approximately six years. Eventually, her family settled in Tampa, Florida, making it their permanent home.In Tampa, Heverly rediscovered her love for the beauty and retail industries, embarking on a successful career spanning nearly three decades. She worked at renowned stores such as Burdines, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Macy's. Her career culminated in a rewarding role as a beauty consultant for Estée Lauder, a position she held with great pride and joy. During her tenure, she formed deep friendships with many of her colleagues.While Heverly did not have biological children, she embodied the nurturing qualities of a mother, especially towards her nieces and nephews. She played a pivotal role in shaping their lives, offering unwavering support, guidance, and unconditional love. Her nephews, in particular, were profoundly influenced by her wisdom and gentle nature, and her presence helped mold them into the exceptional men they are today.She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and a sister. She is survived by her three sisters, Enid (late Winston) of London, UK, Patricia of Tampa, and Jean (Tinsley) of Atlanta, her two brothers, Keith of Tampa and Alton (Claudette) of Atlanta, as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.Heverly lived a humble, quiet, and fulfilling life, touching the hearts of many with her kindness and compassion. As she departs this world, her legacy serves as a reminder, in her own words, "Live simply, love deeply, and always cherish those close to you." Although she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the love and memories of those who knew her well.
