Winnie Gibson, 86, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024, at a local hospital following a massive stroke. She was retired from Civil Service of many years. 

 

Winnie Kathryn Gibson was born June 23, 1938, in Banks County, Georgia to John and Eva Cochran. She spent her childhood in Oak Hill, Florida.

 

She married William McAmis Gibson, November 24, 1955, in Oak Hill, Florida. 

She traveled with William through the U.S. Air Force. They traveled to Japan, Germany, as well as state side in New Mexico, California, Florida, and Colorado. 

 

She was best remember for her love of the outdoors, working on her yard, spending precious time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and sitting on the front porch on every nice day. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William; son, William Jr; grandson, Joshua; and great-grandsons, Orion and Odin. 

 

She is survived by her daughters, Tonya Yvette Gibson and Dani Brewer (Brian Bell); sister, Jean Smith and Bonnie Russell; grandchildren, Danette (Mike), Dalyne, Jacob, Kaly, and Little Billy; great-grandchildren, Shea, Rachael, Seana, Promyse, Sheahone, Amadee, Ayven, Zenovia, Jaden; great-great-grandchildren, Andre, Audrey, Jack, JJ, Arya, Tanner, Dakota, Roslyn, and Trelyn.
