Nellie "Jeanie" Jean Wise
February 16th, 1936 - October 15th, 2024
Ms. Nellie Jean “Jeanie” Wise, 88, a resident of Lake Alfred, Florida passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024, surrounded by family. Jeanie was born February 16, 1936, in Cottonwood, Alabama to William and Edith (Williams) Jackson. She was a lifetime Polk County resident, graduated from Auburndale High School and member of First Baptist Church in Polk City. Jeanie retired from Florida’s Natural Growers after 15 years and had also worked for FMC Corp. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed traveling in and out of state doing craft shows for 35 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers - Marvette, Yvonne & Ray Jackson and grandson – Brandon Powers. Jeanie is survived by her daughter -Kathy Palmer-Welch; son – Jeffrey Palmer; 2 sisters – Annette Coe & Shirley Bryan; 2 sister-in-laws - Linda Jackson & Cherry Jackson; 2 grandchildren – Ashley & John and 6 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 2pm Monday, October 21st at the First Baptist Church in Polk City. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the American Diabetes Association.
