Cory Joe Bullerman

Cory Joe Bullerman, 47, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away on Saturday, October 12th. Born on July 27, 1977, in Decorah, Iowa, Cory lived a life full of love, adventure, passion for live music and dedication to his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving parents, Leon and Jane Bullerman (Bockman) of Decorah, IA; his beloved wife, Nora Bullerman (Donehoo); their three cherished children, Maddux (12), Olive (11), and Pearl (8); and his sister, Kasey Bullerman (Chris Dvorak); numerous loving cousins, and beloved Uncles and Aunts. Cory was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vincent and Leona Bullerman, and Joseph and Rosemary Bockman.

Cory graduated from Decorah High School in 1996 and continued his education at Kirkwood Community College in Iowa City, where he earned his degree in 1998, then attended University of Iowa before moving to Denver in 2001.  There Cory began a diverse career in transportation, including memorable stints as a cab driver for Yellow Cab, a courier, a pizza delivery driver, and finally, as a train conductor for BNSF Railways. His time at BNSF, working on the trains and in the yard, brought him joy and strong friendships.

Cory met Nora in 2008 through a chance carpooling encounter to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, which sparked a love story that would see them share years of music festivals, baseball games, snowboarding trips, and, most importantly, the joys of raising their three children. They married in 2014 and welcomed Maddux in 2012, Olive in 2013, and Pearl in 2016.

Above all, Cory’s greatest joy was being a father. He was an enthusiastic baseball coach for Maddux and delighted in taking his daughters to endless daddy-daughter lunches. Even during times when he was unable to work, Cory made every effort to be present for his children. This past July, he pushed through his pain to join Maddux and his team at baseball camp in Cooperstown, NY—memories that will forever be treasured.

A service to celebrate Cory’s life will be held on October 26, 2024, Arvada United Methodist Church at 6750 Carr Street Arvada, Colorado 80004. The family will greet visitors at 10:30am and the service will begin promptly at 11:30am, a lunch will follow. There is a fundraising page to offer financial assistance to Corys children at:
