Glenda Kaye Sadler LeMay, 69, of Frankfort, KY, died on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 while a resident of Bradford Square Nursing home in Frankfort KY. No services are planned at this time.

 

Glenda was born July 3, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan to Lucy Mae Dunn Sadler and Richard Little Sadler. Her parents and beloved step father Robert B. Biemslager preceded her in death.

 

Glenda worked in a wide variety of jobs in many locations in her lifetime before finding her calling working with children in early childhood education. Some of her many careers included magazine distribution, waitress, construction & remodeling, sign painting, retail including Winn-Dixie and Lowe’s. She was one of the first production workers at Toyota Motors Manufacturing and moved for a time to office staff there after a repetitive motion injury. She was an employee of Union College in the public affairs office and the Barbourville Mountain Advocate Bluegrass Head Start, Frankfort Montessori, Southern Preschool, Western Hills High School food service among others. Glenda enjoyed crafts, flowers, sudoku and was an avid reader her whole life especially enjoying mysteries.

 

Glenda’s education included Pattonville High school Maryland Heights near St. Louis before earning her High School Equivalency Diploma in Denver in 1978; a Bachelor Of Science, Magna cum Laude, with a major in English and a minor in Environmental Studies in 1987 from Union College and a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development and Family Relations at Kentucky State University May 2002.

 

Glenda was well traveled in her youth and in addition to Detroit where she was born, Glenda also lived in St. Louis, MO; Denver, CO; Mayfield, KY; Flat Lick, KY; Georgetown, KY and Frankfort, KY making many friends and acquaintances along the way.

 

She is survived by her husband Jason and son Alex of Frankfort as well as a brother, Rick J. Sadler (Becky) of London and a sister Marketta Castle of Richmond and many nieces, nephews and cousins and friends as well as the staff and residents of Bradford Square. She was of the Baptist faith.
