Mary Suzanne “Sue” Mutschler McCarl Chambers - Melbourne, FL.Sue passed away peacefully at Holmes Hospital at the age of 98 on October 12. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 29,1925. As a military wife, she lived in Pennsylvania, Florida, Georgia and Texas before returning to Florida after the death of her husband, Capt. Clare N. McCarl, Jr. (USAF), in 1955. She raised her sons in Miami, later moved to Leesburg, and then to Melbourne where she married Allan Blaine Chambers. Sue is remembered with love by her sons Robert C. McCarl, of Leesburg, FL, Richard A. McCarl (Charlee) of San Antonio, TX, and Mark F. McCarl (Julianne) of Rockledge, FL., step children Alan Chambers (Claire) and E. Diane Chambers (David Dissinger). Lovingly named “Buba Sue”, “Nana” and “GG” by grandchildren R. David McCarl (Kimberly), Douglas J. McCarl, Christina M. Harwell (Joseph), James A. McCarl (Robyn), Stacy L. Brooks and Lance R. Brooks, Barrett Jepperson and Nathan Chambers. Adored by her great grandchildren, Grace McCarl, Jocelyn, Grayson and Charlotte Harwell, and Jameson McCarl. Also survived by Jake, Alexander and Tyler Brooks, niece Nancy Tortorice, nephews Robert Bowen (Fritzi) and Richard McSweeny as well as many great nieces and nephews.Sue was predeceased by her parents, Walter C. and Mary M. Mutschler, her husbands, Clare N. McCarl Jr. (in 1955) and Allan B. Chambers (in 2015). Also predeceased by her brother and sister in law Robert F. and Elizabeth C. “Be” Mutschler, nephew and niece Robert F., Jr. and Judy Mutschler, niece Mary Beth McSweeny and by her beloved daughter-in-law, Harryette “Bunny” McCarl. She was cherished by many relatives and friends. Sue treasured her family and found her strength and resilience in her faith in Jesus Christ. She was active in churches throughout her life and most recently served as an Elder at Pineda Presbyterian Church. She was kind to everyone and found joy in all she did, but most of all she found joy in the time spent with her family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on November 2nd at 10:00 am at Pineda Presbyterian Church, 5650 Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL. A time of fellowship will follow the service.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pineda Presbyterian Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are being handled by Beckham-Williamson Funeral Home, Rockledge, FL.
