Born in Aurora, IL 5/17/44, James passed into the arms of Jesus from St. Petersburg, FL 10/17/24.
“Jimmy” was a seeker of knowledge and loved to discuss theology. He raised his children in the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ, and made it clear to them that his love for them was unconditional.
He bought a Tandy 1000 encouraging his kids to use the home computer before it was popular. He loved a good “Dad Joke,” and was known to share the corny antidotes multiple times with friends and family.
Jimmy loved to “tinker” with cars and raced in his youth. When teaching his children to drive he often said, “I’ve driven more miles sideways than you have forward.”
He served his country during wartime, in the Navy, as a Sonar Technician. He earned a Masters degree theology and also studied education.
He was married to Sandra (Berardy) for 53 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert Vincent Beaver (1988) and Verna Belle (Huggins) (2014).
He is survived by his wife Sandee; he was a loving father to Pamela (Michael Fowler), Holly , and Ethan (Sharon), and second Dad to many. He was the proud grandfather to Anderson, Samuel, Nova, Luke, and Mollie. His older brother Daniel was by his side the night before his passing.
He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed, but we are so thankful his long journey with Parkinson’s Disease is over. He often used humor through his illness, when asked how he was doing, he’d reply a 🎶 Whole Lotta Shaken’ Goin’ On🎶.
We are planning a celebration of life and information will be posted here when details are finalized.
