Charles "Chuck" Franklin Eskins
January 8th, 1935 - October 15th, 2024
Charles Franklin Eskins, simply known as “Chuck” by his family and friends, was born on January 8, 1935, in Logan County, West Virginia. He passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024. Chuck, a man of strength, resilience, and kindness, will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Chuck proudly served his country as a United States Marine, embodying the values of honor, courage, and commitment throughout his life. His dedication to service left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
After his military service, Chuck worked as a mechanic, where his passion for problem-solving and fixing things brought him great pride. He was known not only for his skill with machines but also for his great sense of humor. A natural jokester, Chuck loved to make people laugh and smile, brightening the lives of those around him with his infectious spirit and playful personality.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edna Mae Eskins; his mother, Hester Eskins; his father, John P. Eskins; his sisters, Birdie Wilson, Martha Elvira Eskins, June Marie Hensley, and Ruby Castillo; and his brother, Arthur Eskins.
Chuck is survived by his two stepdaughters, 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his memory. He also leaves behind many extended family members and close friends who were touched by his generosity and love.
Though born in West Virginia, Chuck lived in various places throughout his life, making an impact wherever he went. He was known for his hard work, integrity, and deep love for those around him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday October 25, 2024 at Anderson McQueen 2201 Dr. MLK Jr St N, St Petersburg FL 33704, with a viewing starting at 11:00 am. Graveside at Sunnyside Cemetery following.
Chuck will be remembered for the love he gave, the joy he spread with his humor, and the strength he showed throughout his life. His legacy as a Marine, mechanic, and jokester will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
