Valentin Olivarez of Hamilton City passed away at the age of 86 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ramona Olivarez, six children; Maria, Salvador, Arturo, Valentin Jr., Maricela, and Bertha. He leaves thirteen grandchildren and three sisters.
Valentin was born February 15, 1938 in Zapotlanejo, Jalisco, Mexico. He grew up in a farming and ranching family before moving to Hamilton City in 1966. He worked for 40 years as a farm laborer before working for Hydro Conduit for 24 years where he retired from.
A Catholic Rosary will be held at 7pm, October 23 at St. Mary’s Church in Hamilton City. A Funeral Mass will be at 10am October 24 at St. Mary’s Church in Hamilton City, followed by a graveside service at Glen Oaks Memorial Park, Chico.
