James Vettori
December 9th, 1932 - October 9th, 2024
Jame M. Vettori was our Amico. Jim was born on December 9, 1932, in Tacoma, WA to Sylvio & Gina Vettori. Jim passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024. Jim graduated from Bellarmine HS in Tacoma, and he went to Seattle U & St. Martins. He was a great American & fought for our country in the Korean War. Jim was retired from the State of Washington but not really. He volunteered countless hours to many military organizations, mainly the VFW. He organized Memorial Day Celebrations & when you see a Flagpole in the greater Olympia/Lacey area there's a good chance that Jim was involved with having it erected. Jim recently went on a Honor Flight back to WA D.C, he was so PROUD! I Want to thank All those at Green View ll, especially Mo Mo, Joie & Yolanda. To his close friend Gary, I say Grazie and to Bob...he loved you and cherished your daily visits. Last week when I took him to his Dr. appointment, he told me he was seeing Leta a lot. Why am I still here? I told Jim that only God knew & that Leta will come and take him permanently to the promised land. I must thank all at Kaiser Permanente, & Hospice. Being Catholic was very important to Jim. Jim also loved his heritage & loved being Italian. Last year Jim told me he wanted to honor his parents and asked me how hard would it be to set up a Scholarship in their name. I told him it was easy...Jim endowed the Sylvio & Gina Vettori Scholarship with the National Order Sons & Daughters of Italy in America Foundation. Last May the first Scholarship was given, and now every May it will continue in perpetuity. Lastly Jim wanted me to thank his “Bella Vita Famiglia” most of all his sister Norma, who he loved dearly. God Bless Jim, it was honor to be your Amico (friend). We LOVE you & look forward to the day we see you again.
A service for James will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Located at Sacred Heart Catholic Church
