Bennie C. Weaver, Jr., 83, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 17, 2024.

 

Bennie was born September 10, 1941, in Sparta, NC to Ben C. Weaver, Sr., and Marie Joines Weaver. He graduated from Piney Creek High School and Appalachian State University. Bennie did his graduate work at UNC Chapel Hill and Appalachian State University, graduating with an MBA. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents Ben C. Weaver, Sr., and Gladis Weaver; Walter and Marie Joines Weaver Edwards, and a sister, Carlie.

 

Bennie was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Kernersville, NC where he served as Treasurer for over 15 years; served on the Administrative Board; many committees; United Methodist Men, Treasurer; JC Grose Sunday School Class, President and Treasurer; Lions Club, Treasurer’ Pine Knolls Property Owners, President and Board of Directors; Pine Knolls Swim & Racquet Club, President & Board of Directors; Society of Business Consultants.

 

Bennie founded WI/Practice Management Associates, a medical management consulting corporation.  When he retired in 1994, Bennie was the CEO and President with the company having monthly clients in five states.

 

Bennie’s greatest loves were his family, his church and his friends.  He loved being “Dad-Dad” to his three grandchildren. Bennie and Kitty were married August 25, 1963, at Christ Episcopal Church, Cleveland, NC.

 

Bennie is survived by his devoted wife, Kitty; his daughter, Kathy Weaver Stevens and son-in-law Robbie of Boone, NC; son, Bennie C “Skip” Weaver, III of Walnut Cove, NC; grandson Trey Stevens and wife Rachael of Boone, NC; granddaughters, Kathryn “Kat” Stevens of Charlotte, NC and Erin Leigh Stevens of Nashville, TN; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Ann Weaver of Mt. Airy, NC; sister-in-law, Marie Scherer of Columbus, OH; two nieces, Julia Weaver Coe and husband Barry of Ararat, NC and Sheila Walker Waltz and husband Mike of Columbus, OH; three nephews, Wes Weaver and wife Anne of Chapel Hill, NC; Steve Walker and wife Carrie of Fairfax, VA and Ray Walker and wife Sheila of Santa Barbara, CA; many great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Funeral services celebrating Bennie’s life will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Main Street United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends in the church commons area from 1:00PM to 2:00PM on Wednesday, prior to the service.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church, 306 S. Main Street, Kernersville, NC 27284, or to the Diabetes Association.
