Emmett Leo Skaggs 04/13/1943-10/14/2024

Emmett Leo Skaggs passed away on October 14, 2024.

A native of Reed,  KY, Leo joined the Navy and retired after 20 years of service in 1983 while living in Summerville, SC. After his retirement,  Leo took a Civilian job with the Navy and retired from there in 2003, while living in Dahlgren,  VA.

After retiring from the Navy in Summerville, Leo got involved in Art and took classes in different mediums and styles of painting. He and his wife Carol Resch, who is also an artist , combined their talents and created C&L Designs and were members of the Summerville and Goose Creek  Artists Guilds. Leo won numerous awards for his paintings in area shows in Charleston and sold his work in many festivals and shows in the Summerville and Charleston areas. 

Leo was preceded in death by his parents Emmett and Opal Skaggs,  sister Lillie Milligan,  and son Thomas (Tommy) Corbett. 

He is survived by his beloved wife Carol Resch, Sister Becky Raley (Richard), Daughters Lori Ethier (Anthony), Tracy Southworth,  Dawn Kennedy (David), Cassandra Skaggs (Francisco Aragon), Son Emmett Shawn Skaggs (Briana Santisteven), his 20 Grandchildren,  12 Great Grandchildren,  many Neices and Nephews,  and close friends Buddy and Peggy Fitch.  

Due to his wishes, there will be no Memorial Service or Funeral.
