Mom, we love you, see you on the other side.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Susana Eugenia Riedner on October 13, 2024 in Tucson AZ. Our mother was born in Lima, Peru on August 11, 1925, to Tobias Riedner and Maria Curiel. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. All who knew her, will recall her beautiful smile, the sparkle in her eyes, and her joy for life.

Originally from Lima, Peru, she also lived in Barcelona, Spain and Tucson, Arizona. She continued her love of travel well into her 90s by going on a cruise to Alaska, travelling to Peru, visiting Israel and the Holy Land, swimming in the ocean at Rocky Point, and strolling Las Ramblas in Barcelona.

She was independent, determined, a loyal friend and fiercely protective of her family. She enjoyed telling and hearing jokes and loved to spend time with friends and family sharing a meal.

She was an avid reader, and until very recently read books in English, German and Spanish, she was fluent on all three languages. She was a devout Catholic and when she could not attend mass in person, she would listen to it on Youtube.

Susana is survived by her four sons, Manuel Gadea(Jeannie), Tobias Gadea, Francisco Gadea, and Eugenio Gadea (Cecilia); three grandchildren Alejandra, Mario and Gabriela; two sisters Maruja and Marcela and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her brother Hans Riedner and grandson Diego Gadea.

The family is especially grateful for the patient and loving care provided by her caregiver Raquel.

A Memorial Service mass will be held on November 26, at 10:00am at St Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church, 4725 E. Pima St., followed by a reception at the Parish hall.
