Reginald "Reg" Thomas Wagner
September 11th, 1971 - October 6th, 2024
Reginald Thomas Wagner, known by most as Reg or Reggie, 53, of Englewood, CO, passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2024, surrounded by his sons and mother.
Born in La Paz, Bolivia, on September 11, 1971, Reg spent much of his childhood in South America before moving to Colorado at age 14. He quickly became a standout football player at Englewood High School. Reg dedicated 31 years of his life to the Physical Plant at Regis University, working his way up through various roles and eventually becoming the Foreman of Landscape and Physical Plant Services. In every role he held, Reg took great pride in ensuring the beauty of the campus and overseeing the care of its renowned Arboretum, which houses over 1,280 trees, 85 genera, and more than 290 species.
Reg was an extraordinary man who could light up any room with his infectious humor and warm spirit. He was always the first to offer help, never hesitating to sacrifice his own time for the benefit of others. Beyond his career, Reg was deeply committed to raising his two sons, Casey and Devin, and providing loving care to his father before his passing, as well as to his mother, Ruth Anne, in recent years. His generosity extended beyond his family and workplace as he participated in volunteer trips to Mexico through Regis University, dedicating his time to helping communities in need.
Known for his love of University of Colorado football, his deep devotion to family, his tireless volunteerism, and his unwavering dedication to the Regis community, Reg's legacy will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.
Reg is survived by his loving family: Ruth Anne Reed Wagner (Mother), Derek Wagner (Brother), Casey Wagner (Son), and Devin Wagner (Son).
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on October 30, 2024, at St. John Francis Regis Chapel, 3333 Regis Blvd, Denver, CO 80221. A reception will follow at Holiday Lanes, 10350 W Colfax Ave, Lakewood, CO 80215.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Regis University Arboretum in Reg’s name, which will go toward planting a tree on campus to honor his memory.
