Robert V. Elmer, a cherished community pillar and a founding father of Cincinnati State, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024, in Sun City Center, Florida, at the age of 92. Born on September 9, 1932, in Monaca, Pennsylvania, Robert lived a life marked by dedication, service, and an unwavering commitment to his community and faith.

Robert was instrumental in the establishment of Cincinnati State, where his vision helped shape the educational landscape for countless students. His legacy in education will continue to inspire future generations.

A man of deep faith, Robert was a daily churchgoer for many decades, finding solace and community within the church's walls. His devotion led him to become a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, exemplifying his commitment to charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.

In his later years in Sun City Center, Robert served as the President of the Tillers and Toilers, where he cultivated gardens and friendships alike. His volunteer spirit was boundless, contributing significantly to organizations such as Our Lady of Guadalupe in Wimauma, the Sun City Center Security Patrol, and the Prince of Peace Church. Robert was known for his love of storytelling, often captivating his audience with tales from his extensive travels and life experiences. He was a man who lived life on his terms, always with a plan in hand. His disdain for procrastination meant that he was always prepared, taking care of details with meticulous care.

He is remembered not just for what he did but for who he was—a planner, a doer, and a caregiver in every aspect of his life. Robert's approach to life was straightforward: do what you want, when you want, and do it well. This philosophy endeared him to all who knew him, making him a beloved figure in every circle he was part of.

Robert V. Elmer leaves behind a legacy of action, faith, and community involvement. While he will be deeply missed, the stories he told, the lives he touched, and the gardens he tended will keep his spirit alive. His life was a testament to the impact one person can have when they live with purpose and passion.

His memory will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his contributions to his communities will long be remembered and appreciated. Rest in peace, Robert, your life's work has indeed flourished.
