James "Jim" Henry King

James "Jim" Henry King, age 86, of Ione, California passed away October 19, 2024, in Ione, California. He was born on December 4, 1937, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Harry and Bessie King.

Jim and Elinora (Nora) King moved to Ione 12 years ago and settled in nicely making new friends.  While he was in the Army during the years of 1955 to 1965, he was assigned and worked in the military police division and studied as a computer analyst.  Computer skills are what made his career while he worked at Transamerica in Los Angeles, CA.  While living in Amador County, he most enjoyed hanging out with other veterans for breakfast at the local Waffle Shop and spending his time at the local casino playing Keno, He was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan and enjoyed football season to the fullest always wearing Steeler hats, t-shirts, and best of all his jackets. His famous daily line was when anyone asked how he was doing, he always answered “I’m Fine as Wine”.

Jim survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Elinora "Nora" King of Ione; his daughter, Celina Luna; grandchildren, Justine Valles, Michael James Valles; sisters, Arlene King, and Constance Hawkins.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation, Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, 12:00pm, followed by a celebration of life 1:00pm both taking place at Daneri Mortuary in Jackson. CA.   In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity the donor’s choice.
